In several of the Health, Wellness and Sciences, Human Services, and Community Safety programmes, the placement offices are responsible for arranging placement opportunities and managing the pre-placement requirements for students to satisfy the learning outcomes of their practical courses.
Health, Wellness and Sciences pre-placement preparation
Georgian works with Synergy Gateway, a company that analyses and approves all of your pre-placement needs.
Synergy Gateway will grant you access to "Verified," a software platform, via a secure login and password that will be emailed to you. "Verified" will be used to schedule your permit check, upload your paperwork and supporting documentation, and check your clinical placement eligibility status.
There are certain steps to be followed:
Step 1: Fill out your pre-placement paperwork
The paperwork you must complete is your Clinical Preparedness Permit. The Clinical Preparedness Permit Information Package explains each need in detail, as well as any exceptions to the rules that are unique to your programme.
Step 2: Make an appointment with Synergy Gateway to check your student permit online.
All medical and non-medical needs will be reviewed and validated. Prior to your permit check appointment, please upload all documentation to your Synergy Gateway profile. You are responsible for keeping this information current and secure at all times.
Forms and Placements requirements
All data and papers requested by the programme area must be completed and submitted by the student. To assure your placement and participation in clinical and field placement facilities, documents must be submitted prior to the start of registration. The college takes no responsibility for these issues, and students should be aware that if they are denied entry to placement, they will not be refunded their money.
