After opening its doors for the first time in 1992, Focus College has expanded to provide employment-focused and globally recognized education in travel & tourism, business, and technology, as well as more miniature courses in accounting, bylaws, office, and ESL.
The Ministry of Advanced Education designated this institute through the PTIB (Private Training Institute Branch) under the Private Training Act. This institution also received the Education Quality Assurance (EQA) designation. This is only awarded to institutions meeting or exceeding the Quality Assurance Standards of BC. Out of its four campuses, one is in Abbotsford.
This city, situated in British Columbia, is adjacent to the Fraser River, Greater Vancouver, and the Canada-United States border. Focus College Abbotsford offers an Advanced Certificate and Advanced Diploma in Business, a PGD in ITASS (Advanced Security Specialist), an Advanced Certificate and Advanced Diploma in Software Development, and several other programs.
Most Focus College graduates get employed just after their training is complete. They can finish their training and be ready to start part-time or full-time work within 12 months. The payment plan at Focus College also provides a range of funding sources for covering a student’s tax-deductible education.
Focus College partnered with the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), providing a pathway for its Advanced Certificate in Business graduates to continue further studies by transferring to UFV in the General Studies Diploma program. Besides scholarships that account for 50% savings in the second year, some eligible students avail themselves of up to 75% off tuition.
