English Course Admissions Requirements

The CICCC English Placement Test will be taken by all students enrolled in English courses to assist determine their level of English and place them in the appropriate class.

Diploma Program Admissions Requirements

Unless students show their previous English proficiency results, all diploma applicants will be required to take the CICCC English Placement Test to assist determine their level of English in order to be placed in the proper class. To begin diploma programmes, students must meet all of the prerequisites.

• High school diploma or equivalent; or 18 years old.

One of the following is required as a minimum level of English language proficiency:

• English 12 – a minimum final grade of "C" is required.
• English Literature 12 – a minimum grade of "C" is required.
• Communication 12 – a minimum final grade of "B" is required.
• English 12 First Peoples - a "C" is required as a minimum final grade.
• 12 – minimum in technical and professional communications
• Grade "C" or Advanced Placement (AP) Minimum grade 3 in English Language or Literature
• Minimum grade 3 in IB English Language A (SL).
• TOEFL PBT – 513; CBT – 183; iBT – 65; TOEFL iBT – 65; TOEFL iBT – 65; TOEFL iBT – 65; TO
• ACADEMIC IELTS 5.5 or the Cornerstone Placement Test - High Intermediate*
