Work Placement:

Several programmes call for students to complete an unpaid work exposure placement to receive a programme certificate or graduation from the College of the North Atlantic. The goal of the work placement is to give students a unique learning opportunity in a natural workplace environment. The high standards of behaviour and performance that are typically anticipated in the workplace are something that students are supposed to learn, develop, and display. Students gain technical skills and employability throughout the work experience, which furthers their personal development. It is a chance to get knowledge from a new network of connections and broaden perspectives on potential paths in life and business. A work placement lasts two weeks for certificate programmes and six weeks for diploma programmes. Students must work a minimum of 30 hr/per week and a maximum of 40 hr/per week according to the employer's requirements. Commonly, the work placement occurs during intersession, pending the presence of an appropriate employer. The work placement will happen in the semester immediately following the last semester of studies for students who finish their degree outside of the standard order. Only graduates who receive certificates will finish the two-week work internship. Your work placement will be completed at the end of your second year if you are in your first year of a two-year diploma programme.
