REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTRY

In the case of diploma programmes,

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent OR
• Mature student status requires that you be at least 18 years old and complete a qualifying test recognised by the superintendent. For more information, call the Admin office at 905-671-9999.
• It is preferable if you have a basic understanding of computers.
• Proficiency in English is required.

Diploma Programs for Post-Graduate Students:

• A post-secondary diploma or degree, or an equivalent, is required.
• It is preferable if you have a basic understanding of computers.
• Proficiency in English is required.

Diploma in PSW students must also meet the following requirements:

• Within 30 days after the start of the programme, you must submit a completed medical form.
• Within 30 days of the program's initiation, a police check (Vulnerable Sector Search) report must be provided.
• Prior to beginning the practicum portion of the programme, you must have valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certifications.

PROFICIENCY IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

English is the medium of instruction at CIMT College. In order to keep up with the curriculum, the student needs to be able to talk and write in English. If English is not the candidate's first language, he or she must demonstrate English proficiency by submitting the results of one of the following tests:

• IELTS Academic Module with a 5.5 or higher overall band
• A TOEFL score of 80 (online) or 550 (paper) is required (paper-based)
• MELAB received an 80 out of 100.
• PTE (Academic) with a minimum aggregate score of 50
• A minimum of three years of full-time study at an English-medium school is required. A letter from the institution or a transcript must be presented for examination to validate the medium of instruction.
