Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) is a public university founded in 1891 as the School of Science and Art. It has campuses located in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire; Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire; Uxbridge, Greater London; and Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire.
Housing over 8,000 students, the university is famous for its specialist courses such as Air Transport with Commercial Pilot Training for a professional pilot's licence. It is one of the few universities to offer a degree in Policing and those in Music Management and Film and Television Production and Animation and Visual Effects.
Other popular programs include finance, behavioural sciences, acting, animation, artificial intelligence, computing, business management and information technology, costume design and making, criminology, cybersecurity, graphic design, data science, education studies, and so on for undergraduates.
Applied forensic psychology cognitive behavioural therapy, cybersecurity, film production, human resource management, international, screenwriting etc., for postgraduate studies. BNU also offers part-time professional development certificate courses.
The yearly tuition may range from GBP 12800-18000. Students can avail several scholarships such as the UK Academic Achievement Scholarship, Clearing Access Bursary, The Foundation Bursary, and The Gateway Scholarship for financial aid. Bucks New University offers options for accommodation at halls of residence, managed houses and the student village, with 396 rooms in the Brook Street Halls, 410 student rooms in the Hughenden Park Student Village, and at the Windsor House.
The cost of living ranges from GBP 4,800-8000. The amenities provided by the university include facilities such as a fitness center, labs, drama studios, sports hall, music recording studios, Café, conference rooms, and a motion capture system along with a green screen.
As a Placements Plus university, BNU offers several opportunities for work with their Skills for Work training, Nursing and Operating departments work closely with NHS during their degree. About 98% of the graduates find employment or opportunities for further study within 15 months of graduation.
