  • Binghamton University, also known as the State University of New York in Binghamton, is a public research university located in the state of New York. Founded in 1946 as the Triple Cities College, it was renamed in 1965 and joined the State University of New York system. 
  • The university is made up of seven different colleges, offering over 130 undergraduate programs along with 80 graduate programs across its various campuses. The best programs in Binghamton University include MA in Economics, MS in Geological Sciences and Ph.D in various fields of Psychology. 
  • The main campus of the university is located in Binghamton. Spread over 930 acres, the campus is uniquely shaped like a brain above the Susquehanna River. Additionally, the university also has a Health Sciences Campus in Johnson City and the Downtown Center Campus. 
  • The university also has three libraries; Glenn G. Bartle Library (arts and humanities), Science Library (engineering and sciences) and University Downtown Center Library (public administration). Other facilities on campus include the Center of Excellence, a research facility which has helped the university establish itself as a campus for very high research activity. 
  • The fee structure varies depending on the program chosen, with average annual costs estimated at USD 29,000. The university has over 400 clubs, fraternities, sororities and student organizations that encourage students to participate in various activities in the university.
  •  The Binghamton Bearcats represent the university at various college sports, giving students the chance to participate and grow in a holistic manner during their education. The residential complexes surrounding the campus provide a great opportunity for students to mingle and interact with the diverse community.
  •  Notable alumni from the Binghamton University include Bob Swan, former CEO of Intel, molecular biologist Arnold J. Levine and Steven Fulop, mayor of New Jersey.
