  • The Institution of Central Lancashire is the United Kingdom's 19th largest university. It is a multi-campus international university in Preston, Lancashire, United Kingdom. Preston (main campus), Burnley (research centers), Westlakes (nuclear and energy-related research programmes), and a satellite campus in Larnaca, Cyprus, are the university's three sites.

To be eligible for admission to your desired courses, you must meet the below-mentioned academic requirements:


For Undergraduate :


  • 50% overall score
  • If a certain topic is necessary for admission to a degree programme, it must be completed with a grade of 55%.
  • 3% margin to be considered by UCLan staff based on the institution's reputation, work experience etc.
  • 65% or 70% in Year 12 English – dependent upon State Board


For Postgraduate :


  • 75% in Year 12 English OR 70% average grade in Year 11 and Year 12 English provided Year 12 is not below 65%.
  • 58% in bachelor's degree.

The university provides an optional work placement in the industry to enhance your job experience. The length of this varies by programme and can range from a year, 6-12 months, or shorter work placement of between 10-15 weeks.

On-Campus Accommodation


The University provides several accommodation options that provide excellent value for money in a safe, active, and inclusive hall community. They also offer advice and assistance to students who want to live in private student housing and offer a variety of self-catering halls with en-suite flats or communal facilities to choose from. The rent includes gas, electricity, water expenses, and free internet and Wi-Fi.


In addition, we maintain a 24-hour security presence with CCTV. Each hall has on-site personnel available to assist with questions outside regular business hours.

I studied at University of Central Lancashire and I would say it was an amazing experience. The campus is really beautiful and has students from a wide range of different ethnicities, so there is a good blend of diversity. Whilst the accommodation was a little bit far from my course, the campus itself is definitely worth visiting.



UCLAN is fantastic! I'm so glad I went there. It's a great university with friendly people and a student community that works hard to make sure you succeed. The staff are always available and the campus is amazing, not to mention the surrounding areas!



I went to the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) and I found it to be a great experience. The teaching staff was really nice and helpful, and they always encouraged me to do my best. I was also impressed with their library which had a wide range of books and resources that you could browse through at your leisure.
