College Graduate Certificate Enhanced Practice for Internationally Educated Nurses, Georgian College

This program is designed for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) who want to strengthen their understanding and skills in complex care environments in Ontario. Over the course of one year, students develop both theoretical knowledge and clinical skills through classroom instruction and hands-on practicum placements. The coursework covers areas like ethical and legal issues, pharmacology, health assessment, mental health nursing practice, and cultural sensitivity, using active learning methods including simulation labs. Students will undertake clinical placements in various settings, which require their own transportation. The focus is on preparing IENs to navigate the Canadian healthcare system and succeed in complex care roles within Ontario.
