Recreation Therapy at Canadore College is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in health-centered fields. Available onsite or online, the course emphasizes clinical and community-based settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals, children’s treatment centers, and mental health centers. Students will gain skills in program design, assessment, documentation, leisure education, facilitation techniques, and adaptive recreation. The program includes a mandatory 350 hours of applied work experience which allows students to apply their classroom learning to real-world scenarios.
