Baden-Württemberg charges students from outside the EU and EEA. The university states that this fee is charged on top of the general semester fee. Over a full program, that adds up to Rs.3,24,240 (€3,000) a year, Rs.6,48,480 (€6,000) for a 2-year Master’s and Rs.9,72,720 (€9,000) for a 3-year Bachelor’s.

The state has charged this fee since the 2017-18 winter semester. The 2027-28 amounts are not published yet, so every figure in this guide is the latest published number from 2026. Check the official page before you apply. If you are comparing other state universities, our guide to University of Freiburg fees shows the same €1,500 rule.

Student category

Tuition per semester

In INR

Non-EU, Bachelor’s or consecutive Master’s

€1,500

Rs.1,62,120

EU or EEA citizen

€0

Rs.0

Second degree after a degree completed in Germany

€650

Rs.70,252

Doctoral student

€0 (automatic)

Rs.0

Partner-agreement exchange student

€0 (automatic)

Rs.0

Baden-Württemberg Stiftung scholar

Exempt on application

Rs.0

Exchange rate used: Rs.108.08 per euro. Tuebingen sits in the one state where that does not hold for non-EU students, so put the Rs.1,62,120 line into your budget before you shortlist, not after you get an offer.

Who Pays University of Tuebingen Fees and Who Is Exempt

You pay the €1,500 fee if you are a non-EU citizen starting a Bachelor’s, a consecutive Master’s or a Staatsexamen program, according to the university’s fee page. Most Indian applicants fall into this group.

Does the €1,500 apply to every Master’s?

The university names consecutive Master’s programs in its rule.
