From 2025, the TCS threshold was raised to Rs.10 lakh, and education remittances funded by a loan from a specified financial institution became exempt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For self-funded remittances above Rs.10 lakh in a financial year, TCS was reported to fall from 5% to 2% from 1 April 2026. At 2%, a family remitting the low-end Rs.13.17 lakh first-year budget would see about Rs.6,350 collected.
