A fresh German MS graduate with no industry experience sits at the <strong>bottom<\/strong> of that band, not the middle. The \u20ac40,000 to \u20ac45,000 corner is where Indian graduates with good grades and no German work history usually land. Students who start near \u20ac58,000 almost always have something specific on the CV: a Werkstudent role, an industry-supervised thesis, or an internship at the company that then hired them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Counselor insight:<\/em><\/strong><em> The working-student job is the highest-return thing you do during your MS, and it has little to do with the wage it pays. Someone who spent 18 months as a Werkstudent at Siemens or Zalando is not a fresher at graduation, and the offer reflects that. Apply in your second semester. Destatis puts 2025 average earnings at Rs. 1.01 crore (\u20ac91,678) in finance and insurance, Rs. 95.27 lakh (\u20ac86,638) in ICT, and Rs. 92.20 lakh (\u20ac83,847) in professional and scientific activities. There is also a regional split: ICT earnings average Rs. 96.90 lakh (\u20ac88,124) in the former federal territory but Rs. 73.47 lakh (\u20ac66,819) in the new L\u00e4nder. Leipzig and Dresden have real tech scenes, far cheaper rent, and genuinely lower pay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Counselor insight:<\/em><\/strong><em> Rank offers by what is left after rent. A Berlin offer at \u20ac58,000 and a Munich offer at \u20ac66,000 are closer than they look. Germany takes roughly 54% of the marginal euro there. So the gap between a good and a great data scientist salary in Germany narrows sharply after deductions, which is why team quality and visa security should outweigh a few thousand euros of base pay. As a recent graduate you qualify for the lower floor on two grounds at once.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The thresholds rose in January 2026<\/strong>, from \u20ac48,300 and \u20ac43,759.80.
