That was the 2026-2027 cycle. You have to apply to and receive a (provisional) admission offer for your master&#8217;s program <strong>before<\/strong> you can apply for UTS, and UT recommends submitting your program application at least two months ahead of the scholarship deadline to leave processing time. In practice, that means Indian applicants targeting the 1 April 2027 UTS deadline should have their master&#8217;s application submitted by early February 2027 at the latest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Counselor insight:<\/em><\/strong><em> The scholarship application and the program application are genuinely two separate systems that don&#8217;t talk to each other automatically. Applying for your master&#8217;s late and assuming your admission will &#8220;catch up&#8221; before the scholarship deadline is the single most common reason eligible Indian applicants miss the UTS window entirely.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_There_a_University_of_Twente_Scholarship_Acceptance_Rate\"><\/span><strong>Is There a University of Twente Scholarship Acceptance Rate<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No official UTS acceptance rate is published, and most numbers you&#8217;ll find quoting a specific percentage are not sourced to UT itself. What UT does publish is the actual selection bar: you need to sit in the top 5-10% of your graduating class, alongside the English proficiency and eligibility conditions above. That&#8217;s a more useful number to plan around than a fabricated acceptance percentage, because it tells you exactly what to check against your transcript instead of leaving you to guess your odds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s what that looks like in practice. If your engineering department graduates roughly 120 students a year, the top 5-10% works out to somewhere between 6 and 12 students overall. If you know you finished in the top 10 of your batch or hold a university gold medal, distinction, or first-class-with-honours ranking, you&#8217;re realistically in range. If you were somewhere in the middle of a large batch, even with a respectable CGPA, your chances are still low, no matter how strong your application materials are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The catch is that most Indian universities don&#8217;t hand out an official class-rank certificate the way some other countries do. You&#8217;ll usually need to self-assess using whatever your university does provide: a percentile shown on the mark sheet, a merit or distinction list, department-level rank letters some colleges issue on request, or your CGPA measured against your batch&#8217;s published toppers list. If none of these exist for your program, ask your department&#8217;s exam cell directly; many will issue a rank or percentile letter for this purpose if you request it early, well before the 1 April 2027 deadline, rather than waiting until the last moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Counselor insight:<\/em><\/strong><em> Students sometimes round up generously when self-assessing where they stand. Being 15th out of 150 is not the same as being in the top 10%, even if they feel close.
