If you have seen 53% quoted on five different websites, that figure did not come from Radboud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is worth showing you where it came from, because the Radboud University acceptance rate is one of the clearest examples of a number that became a fact through repetition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EduRank, one of the sites publishing the figure, explains its own method openly. It states that Radboud is among the institutions that do not provide data on acceptance rates, and that its estimate is based on the admission statistics of <strong>closely ranked nearby universities with similar research profiles<\/strong> that do publish such data. In other words, the number describes other universities, not Radboud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From there it spread. One site presents 53% as a flat fact. Another writes that just over half of applicants are accepted. A third hedges with &#8220;as per credible sources, estimated to be around 53%.&#8221; One goes further and invents supporting detail, claiming roughly 10,000 applicants and 5,300 admitted students for a recent intake, while admitting in the same paragraph that Radboud does not consistently publish admission statistics. Even Collegedunia now runs &#8220;estimated 53% acceptance rate&#8221; and &#8220;Radboud publishes no official institutional figure&#8221; on the same page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>None of this tells you anything about your chances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Counselor insight:<\/em><\/strong><em> A borrowed estimate is more damaging than no number at all, because it makes you feel informed while telling you nothing about your program. Indian students routinely shortlist universities by acceptance rate and then discover the number had no bearing on their actual application. They are qualification-based. You meet the published admission requirements, and you are admitted. You are not ranked against other applicants and there is no cohort cap you are competing for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The process runs in two steps. You submit an enrolment application through <strong>Studielink<\/strong>, the national Dutch registration system. You then receive login details for <strong>OSIRIS Application<\/strong>, Radboud&#8217;s document portal, where you have 56 days to upload everything and submit a complete application. Apply close to the deadline and you get fewer than 56 days. If you do not submit within the window, the application is cancelled automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Radboud then informs you by email within approximately three weeks. There are three possible outcomes: unconditional admission, conditional admission, or rejection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A university that decides most applications on whether you meet stated criteria, in about three weeks, does not have a meaningful acceptance rate. It has requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Counselor insight:<\/em><\/strong><em> This changes how you should build your shortlist. Instead of hunting for a Radboud University acceptance rate, open your target program page and check each stated requirement against your transcript. The highest ranking number shows how far down the ranked list Radboud had to go to fill its places, as candidates ahead declined or took places elsewhere. For Psychology in 2026-2027, offers reached rank 1,059 to fill 600 places. For Dentistry, rank 100 to fill 72.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What it tells you is how deep the queue moves, which is genuinely useful if you hold a ranking number and are waiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Counselor insight:<\/em><\/strong><em> Radboud&#8217;s own advice is worth following. When you apply to a numerus fixus program, apply to a non-selective program alongside it. These are the ones that decide your outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For a Master&#8217;s<\/strong>, you need a Bachelor&#8217;s degree assessed as equivalent to a Dutch Bachelor&#8217;s, with a discipline match to your chosen program. Research Master&#8217;s programs set higher thresholds, typically a stronger grade average and thesis grade. Applicants coming through a university of applied sciences route may be routed into a pre-Master&#8217;s first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For a Bachelor&#8217;s<\/strong>, you need a school-leaving qualification assessed against the Dutch VWO level, plus any subject prerequisites your program sets. Mathematics is a common one for AI, computer science, and Economics tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On English proficiency, one detail matters more than any other for Indian applicants.<\/strong> Radboud lets you demonstrate English through your previous education, but for Bachelor&#8217;s programs, the exemption list is specific: a diploma equivalent to or higher than Dutch VWO obtained at an institution in an EU\/EEA state, Australia, Canada excluding Qu\u00e9bec, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom or the United States, with English as the only medium of instruction. India is not on that list. A CBSE, ICSE or state board certificate will not exempt you, whatever the medium of instruction was. Use them rather than emailing generally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your IELTS is below the program requirement.<\/strong> Radboud&#8217;s minimums are set per program, and a 0.5 gap is usually a six to eight week retake away.
