The cost is deducted from your scholarship rather than billed separately. Applications for the<a href=\"https:\/\/laziodisco.it\/bando-diritto-allo-studio-2026-2027\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> 2026\/2027 right-to-study call<\/a> closed at 12:00 on 22 July 2026, with enrolment allowed to be completed as late as 10 February 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Bologna, Modena, Parma, Ferrara: ER.GO Emilia-Romagna<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>ER.GO publishes live availability with prices. On its<a href=\"https:\/\/serviziergo.er-go.it\/vetrina\/suc.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> official vacancy listing<\/a> for September 2026 entry, guest monthly rates ran from <strong>Rs.29,614 (\u20ac266)<\/strong> for a place in a double room in a shared flat in Bologna to <strong>Rs.40,079 (\u20ac360)<\/strong> for a double room in the Galvani residence, with single rooms in shared apartments in Modena and Parma at <strong>Rs.35,514 (\u20ac319)<\/strong> and <strong>Rs.39,411 (\u20ac354)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Turin: EDISU Piemonte<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>EDISU offers around 2,700 beds across Turin and other Piedmont university cities. For 2026-27 the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.regione.piemonte.it\/web\/pinforma\/notizie\/edisu-bando-per-borse-studio-2026-2027\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Piedmont Region<\/a> confirmed that PNRR investment adds 500 more beds, taking the total past 3,100. Applications ran from 22 July to 12:00 on 4 September 2026. The same call sets the lowest canteen band at <strong>Rs.334 (\u20ac3.00)<\/strong> per meal for 2026-27, which is worth factoring in alongside rent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Milan: Politecnico di Milano halls<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Polimi publishes its full-rate table openly. These are annual, per person, and include utilities, shared kitchens and residence services. On the same campuses outside Milan, the same university charges <strong>Rs.4,28,621 (\u20ac3,850)<\/strong> annually for a single with private bathroom in Cremona and <strong>Rs.3,67,389 (\u20ac3,300)<\/strong> for a double, which is roughly half the Milan figure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Polimi also runs a subsidised tier:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.residenze.polimi.it\/en\/prenotare-tariffa-agevolata\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> 1,349 places<\/a> allocated by merit and income, at a rate set annually by the Lombardy Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The private residence comparison<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For contrast, Polimi&#8217;s<a href=\"https:\/\/www.residenze.polimi.it\/en\/affiliated-companies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> affiliated private residences<\/a> list 2026-27 rates of <strong>Rs.1,05,764 to Rs.1,55,862 (\u20ac950 to \u20ac1,400)<\/strong> per month for studios and <strong>Rs.1,22,463 to Rs.1,50,296 (\u20ac1,100 to \u20ac1,350)<\/strong> for a premium room in a two-person apartment in Milan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read those two paragraphs together. A public bed in Bologna at Rs.29,614 and a private studio in Milan at Rs.1,55,862 are both accommodation in Italy. The gap is over Rs.1.2 lakh a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exchange rate used: Rs.111.33 per euro. Verify the current rate before finalising your budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Counselor insight:<\/em><\/strong><em> Run the housing number before you finalise your university shortlist, not after. It is a single application that can give you a scholarship, a subsidised bed, and cheap canteen access together. For an Indian student from a middle-income family, this is the most valuable thing on this page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two features make it different from a scholarship you might expect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The housing cost is netted against the award.<\/strong> DiSCo states plainly that the accommodation cost is deducted from the scholarship. So a full award plus a bed can mean your effective rent approaches zero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility is assessed on family income, using an Indian-specific document.<\/strong> Non-EU students whose family lives outside Italy cannot use a normal Italian ISEE. You need an <strong>ISEE Parificato<\/strong>, an equivalent economic situation indicator built from your family&#8217;s Indian income, property and savings, prepared through a CAF office. This requires documents from India, translated and legalised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deadlines fall in the July to September window. Lazio closed on 22 July 2026. Piedmont closed on 4 September 2026. Emilia-Romagna publishes its residential section within the annual DSU call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Counselor insight:<\/em><\/strong><em> The ISEE Parificato is the long pole in the whole plan. Start collecting your family&#8217;s income and property documents in <\/em><strong><em>April<\/em><\/strong><em>, because apostille and translation timelines in India are what actually cause students to miss the DSU deadline. Not the form. The consulate wants evidence of where you will live before it issues the visa, but DSU results may not be out, and no landlord in Milan will hold a room for a student without a visa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two things resolve it. First, a university residence booking or a private residence reservation covering your first period is normally accepted as proof. Second, note the risk Polimi states openly on its own booking page: if you fail to enrol or fail to obtain a visa, the amount paid for a full-rate booking is not refunded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Counselor insight:<\/em><\/strong><em> Read the cancellation terms before you pay, and prefer a residence that refunds on visa refusal or holds the amount as credit.
