The Jindal School grants scholarships to deserving new entering students who are in financial need in the spring and autumn semesters, as well as continuing students right before the start of each semester. The goal of the JSOM Scholarship is to help deserving students continue their education. Monthly Inspirational\/Informational Sessions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\nEach JYSP high school hosts these sessions. These sessions provide timely and relevant information on higher education preparation. These monthly gatherings are intended to motivate students to seek academic success while also providing information on how to do so.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Mentoring<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\n&#8220;Quality mentoring relationships have powerful positive benefits on young people in a number of emotional, academic, and professional contexts,&#8221; according to research. (The National Mentoring Partnership, 2019). JYSP mentors might be students, employees, professors, alumni, or community partners from UT Dallas. The JYSP director pairs mentors with high school students in order to achieve a mentor-to-student ratio of 1:5. Mentoring takes place mostly online, with the purpose of providing resources needed to satisfy the needs of Jindal Young Scholars.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Sessions for SAT\/ACT Preparation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\nThe College Board, which administers the SAT test, claims that just six to eight hours of approved SAT practice tests equates to a 90-point boost in SAT results. 20 hours of practice leads to a 115-point gain in the average score (The Washington Post, May 9, 2017). During fall, spring, and summer, the Jindal Young Scholars Program collaborates with Dallas ISD to provide a chance for JYSP students to improve their test-taking abilities and material knowledge.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Eligibility_Criteria_for_JSOM\"><\/span><strong>Eligibility Criteria for JSOM<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\nA candidate must meet the following criteria in order to be considered:\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Apply for admission or be a current student at the University of Texas at Dallas&#8217;
