The Skilled Immigration Act&#8217;s second stage cut the requirement to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>3 years \/ 36 months&#8217; pension<\/strong>&nbsp;if you hold a \u00a718a, \u00a718b, or \u00a718d residence permit (foreign or German degree, non-Blue-Card job)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2 years \/ 24 months&#8217; pension<\/strong>&nbsp;if you additionally completed your degree or vocational training inside Germany<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This pathway is separate from, and often faster to qualify for than, the EU Blue Card route, because it doesn&#8217;t require the Rs.50 lakh+ salary threshold. If your first job in Germany pays below the Blue Card minimum but is genuinely related to your degree, you&#8217;re very likely on this track, not the &#8220;5-year&#8221; one still quoted across most guides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fee for this route is the standard Rs.12,317 (\u20ac113) Settlement Permit fee, the same as the Blue Card route. The higher Rs.16,023 (\u20ac147) fee applies only to a narrow, discretionary &#8220;highly qualified specialist&#8221; category under \u00a718c Abs. 3 (senior scientists and researchers granted settlement without the usual residence period), not to ordinary Blue Card or skilled-worker applicants. Self-employed applicants pay Rs.13,516 (\u20ac124) under \u00a721 Abs. 4 AufenthG (\u00a744 AufenthV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Counselor insight:<\/strong>\u00a0The mix-up we see most often is students assuming the skilled-worker route also needs the Blue Card&#8217;s Rs.50 lakh+ salary threshold. It doesn&#8217;t. There&#8217;s no fixed euro figure in the Settlement Permit rules themselves, though the<a href=\"https:\/\/leapscholar.com\/blog\/germany-opportunity-card-for-international-workers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Opportunity Card<\/a> pathway benchmarks visa-stage cover around Rs.32.7 lakh (\u20ac30,000).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Housing:<\/strong> adequate accommodation registered under your Anmeldung.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Clean record:<\/strong> no pending investigation or unresolved fines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Integration knowledge:<\/strong> an integration course or the &#8220;Living in Germany&#8221; test, unless waived.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Language:<\/strong> A1 minimum on the slowest routes, B1 for every fast-track route&nbsp;and for citizenship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Counselor insight:<\/em><\/strong><em> <em>A payroll gap of even a few weeks shows up as a break in your pension record, and that break can push your Settlement Permit application back by months on<\/em> any pathway<em>.
