You won&#8217;t be alone: about 69,000 <a href=\"https:\/\/leapscholar.com\/blog\/news-indian-students-germany-record-70000-enrolment-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Indian students in Germany<\/a> were enrolled in the past winter semester (the October intake), the largest group from any country, says DAAD (the German Academic Exchange Service).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The semester contribution is not tuition: it is a fee every student pays each semester for student services and a transport ticket, INR 7,400 &#8211; 45,200 (EUR 70-430). Eligibility by Degree Type<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A four-year bachelor&#8217;s degree from India is treated as equal to a German bachelor&#8217;s, says DAAD India, and most universities then judge you on their program rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finished a three-year BCom, BSc, BA, or BCA? A masters in Germany for Indian students can still be open to you. APS India is the Academic Evaluation Center of the German Embassy in New Delhi, and it confirms your Indian documents are genuine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Every masters in Germany for Indian students starts with this paperwork order:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>APS certificate:<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/leapscholar.com\/blog\/aps-certificate-germany-fees-and-documents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">APS certificate<\/a> does not decide admission or the visa. Documents go by post or courier, with no fixed processing time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>dMAT:<\/strong> Some applicants need the <a href=\"https:\/\/leapscholar.com\/blog\/digital-master-test-dmat-exam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Digital Master Test (dMAT)<\/a>, which is an aptitude test for selected master&#8217;s fields from summer semester 2027 (the April intake). The field list is still to be announced; tests are planned for mid-January and mid-March.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Who is exempt:<\/strong> You are exempt if your APS registration or document shipment was before 29 June 2026; the <a href=\"https:\/\/leapscholar.com\/blog\/dmat-exemption\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dMAT exemption<\/a> rules explain the rest. APS issues the certificate only after your dMAT results are available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Entrance tests:<\/strong> The GRE (a general aptitude test), the GMAT (a business-school aptitude test), and GATE (India&#8217;s Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) are asked for only by some programs. A <a href=\"https:\/\/leapscholar.com\/blog\/blocked-account-germany\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blocked account<\/a> (Sperrkonto) is a German bank account where you deposit a year of living funds and can withdraw only INR 1.04L (EUR 992) a month.
