It is charged only when a visa is approved and issued, so a refused applicant does not pay it. Since mid-2026, some US consular posts have begun collecting it, while others have not. The law allows a refund if you follow all visa conditions, but the refund process is still being finalised. Check your consulate&#8217;s instructions before your interview and keep your payment proof.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Note<\/em><\/strong><em>: INR figures above use USD 1 = \u20b995.98.
