The scholarship covers the full study and living costs during the Master\u2019s degree course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>University &#8211; ETH Zurich<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Country &#8211; Switzerland<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Level &#8211; Eligible Masters Degree Programme offered by the University<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deadline &#8211; The application window is open between Nov 1 &#8211; Dec 15 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-96e32f5\" id=\"strong-scholarship-strong-amount-strong-and-duration-strong\" data-block-id=\"96e32f5\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Scholarship_amount_and_duration\"><\/span><strong>Scholarship <\/strong>amount<strong> and duration<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>ESOP consists of a scholarship covering living and study expenses (CHF 12000 or INR 11,31,390 per semester) and a tuition fee waiver.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ESOP is awarded for the regular duration of the Master\u2019s programme (three or four semesters). This also applies to the tuition fee waiver.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-097d853\" id=\"eligibility-prerequisites\" data-block-id=\"097d853\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"EligibilityPrerequisites\"><\/span>Eligibility\/Prerequisites<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Very good result in Bachelor\u2019s degree programme (top 10% of Bachelor\u2019s degree programme = grade A).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>The selection process might include a phone\/VC interview in February.<br>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are already enrolled in a Master&#8217;s degree programme at ETH Zurich or hold a Master&#8217;s degree, you are not eligible for ESOP.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-30502bd\" id=\"application-documents\" data-block-id=\"30502bd\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Application_documents\"><\/span>Application documents<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>To be considered for the scholarship, you must apply for a Master\u2019s degree programme at ETH Zurich.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In addition to the documents for the Master&#8217;s admission, you must upload a pre-proposal for your master&#8217;s thesis. Check the guidelines <a href=\"https:\/\/ethz.ch\/students\/en\/studies\/financial\/scholarships\/excellencescholarship.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The pre-proposal for the Master&#8217;s thesis must be developed by yourself using established scientific citation practices.<br>Plagiarism and negligent or intentional misinformation will lead to exclusion from the admission process or &#8211; if discovered later &#8211; to the revocation of the admission and any scholarship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your study programme does not require references, you must name two reference persons (professors) for your ESOP application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-f6a3848\" id=\"selection-process\" data-block-id=\"f6a3848\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Selection_process\"><\/span>Selection process<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For the start of the academic year 2023\/24, approximately 60 ESOP scholarships will be assigned.<br>The applications are evaluated by the Admissions Committees of the respective Master\u2019s programmes. The final decision for awarding scholarships in the Excellence Scholarship &amp; Opportunity Programme rests with the Rector of ETH Zurich. The exact number of annual scholarships depends on the availability of funds. Will I continue to receive the grant during my exchange semester at another university?<\/h5>\n<div class=\"rank-math-answer \">\n\n<p>No, the grant will be suspended. However, your tuition fees will continue to be waived. If your semester on exchange prolongs the duration of your studies, the grant will be based on the standard number of semesters required to complete your study programme.
