Your university will almost always want more than that. So just focus on hitting your university&#8217;s number and you will clear the visa bar automatically in most cases.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-6221066\" id=\"strong-why-the-per-section-rule-catches-indian-students-off-guard-strong\" data-block-id=\"6221066\"><h3 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\"><strong>Why the Per-Section Rule Catches Indian Students Off Guard<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>An applicant who scores Listening 7.0, Reading 7.0, Speaking 6.5, and Writing 5.0 has an overall band of 6.4 but\u00a0fails the UK student visa standard\u00a0because Writing fell below 5.5. The Home Office reads each section individually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For most Indian students, Writing is the weakest skill. Target 6.0 in Writing during prep so a bad test day does not drop you below 5.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Counselor insight:<\/strong> Writing is the section that most often causes a satisfactory overall result to miss the visa cut. Do not leave Writing prep to the last two weeks.
