TOEFL New Format for 2023 

Here’s what you should know!

From July 26, 2023, onwards, the TOEFL iBT test will be completed in under 2 hours, making it the shortest among the top three English-language tests.

Reading section will have 2 reading passages with 10 questions each

Writing task will be more concise, replacing the current Independent Writing task

Unscored test questions will be removed

Did you know?

The Independent Writing task will be replaced by “Writing for an Academic Discussion.” In this task, you will have an online class discussion on a given topic.

Speaking section will not have any changes. *TOEFL new format changes do not apply to the TOEFL iBT Paper Edition test.
