What is Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) for Canada? 

Canada has introduced several new rules for international students, one of them being the Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) requirement.

Starting Jan 22nd, most international students applying for UG courses,  and a few graduate certificate and diploma programs, will need to submit a PAL!

No PAL needed for:

Canadian citizens 

Permanent residents 

Permit extensions 

Short-term programs (less than six months)

Current permit holders or their relatives 

Those applying to master's programs 

How to get a PAL for Canada visa? 

When you get accepted by a university in Canada, they notify the province, which processes the PAL and sends it back to the school for your confirmation. 

How long is PAL valid for? If it doesn't have an expiry date written on it, it’s valid until January 21, 2025 You can reuse the same PAL for a study permit application if it’s still valid.
