Justin Trudeau, PM of Canada announces $80 Million Scholarship Programme for 8 years to “educate, train, and empower” international students from 24 developing countries.

The program is part of a  $500 Million package for “key priorities”, such as food security, climate change & gender equality – announced at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

The Scholarship is funded by Global Affairs Canada, the government department that manages Canada’s diplomatic & consular relationships to promote international trade, development & humanitarian assistance.

In Partnership with

• Colleges & Institutes Canada • Universities Canada have formed with the West African Economic & Monetary Union • The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences, • The Association of African Universities.

• Universities Canada aims to reach over to 7,000 people with the programmes • At least half of them will be women • French-speaking and commonwealth countries • Or from, Small Island Developing States.
